I liked this plant especially because I don’t have to put it in direct sun and it doesn’t need a lot of light. I have had a few problems with the ends of the leaves drying out, probably due to such dry air here this time of year (February). But I cannot thank Wilson Bros enough for attempting to help me, providing lots of advice on issues like the browning, repotting, and the pot not holding moisture. I have never had this kind of service and attention before from any nursery. The plant arrived fairly quickly, considering the distance. The only issue was the shipping company delivering it carried and handed me the box upside down! It was well packed considering that, albeit some of the soil had spilled out into the box. This is not the fault of the nursery but the shipper.
I want to thank Wilson Bros Nursery for all the attention and advice they have been providing, considering this was my first order from them and an order for just one plant. I saw a variety of these cast iron plants, while vacationing in another state, and came home to try to find some locally. I found these “across town” and was very happy to have them shipped. They arrived quickly and I was very impressed with the packaging. It was done so well on these plants! They arrived very healthy and completely intact, ready to go into the ground. The cast iron plant arrived healthy and in great shape thanks to the careful shipping, despite a three day delay on Fedex’s end. The plant has a strong root system and the foliage is beautiful. I live in the Pacific Northwest where sunshine is scarce for most of the winter and early spring. The aspidistra (cast iron plant) makes a terrific houseplant for the dark parts of my home. This is the second time I have bought this plant. The original is thriving in my living room, so I decided to get another for the bedroom. Both 1-gallon plants were generously sized and arrived in perfect condition. This plant was packed well, we bought 2, and I just ordered another 1 for our upper bed facing North, East and West on Lake Hartwell! It’s perfect underneath a Bradford Pear and Oak Tree; large bed with some sun.
