A super hardy, vigorous, and long-lived Hybrid Rugosa Rose that is breathtaking in bloom, which it does from late spring or early summer all the way to frost, ‘Linda Campbell produces abundant large clusters of true red semi-double flowers, with 5 to 15 blooms per cluster! The blooms stand out beautifully against the semi-glossy, leathery disease resistant leaves. Her arching canes top out at about 6 feet in height with a spread around 8 feet wide. This is a rose that keeps looking better every year with little maintenance. If you are looking for a winter hardy rose this is definitely one you should try!Â
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 5 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, the Linda Campbell Rose is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or as a colorful hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders and home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, cottage gardens and red theme color gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â 4 to 5 feet apart for hedges; 12 feet apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
The Linda Campbell Rose is very easy to grow in a moist but well drained soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. Morning sun is a must to dry dew from the leaves. Heaviest flowering occurs in full sun. Spent flowers ca be removed to encourage fresh new buds and blooms. Remove spent flowers to encourage rebloom. Prune as needed in late winter to early spring.Â
