Description
A truly dramatic architectural plant that deserves a spot in every home landscape where it will grow (USDA Zones 5a-11), the deep rose-pink to red tubular, vase-like flowers of Red Yucca rise high above handsome mounds of elongated, grass-like, arching bluish-green leaves during summer and fall. In warmer southern regions its gorgeous flowers are often produced year round. Hummingbords will thank you for planting this one! This interesting desert-like plant loves the heat and dry weather but also is exceptionally cold hardy to -20F!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a mound 3 to 4 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide, the Red Yucca is ideal for use as a specimen in small spaces or containers, and in groupings or mass plantings in sunny to partly shaded larger landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Looks very nice around garden ponds or in rock gardens near boulders and is also makes a nice solo or centerpiece in container gardens. A fine addition to Asian theme gardens, red theme gardens, perennial gardens, rock gardens, tropical look gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs). We like combining Yucca with other low water need plants such as junipers, barberry, abelia, ornamental grasses, sedums, and loropetalum.
Suggested Spacing:  5 to 6 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note: For our customers who live and garden North of USDA Cold Hardiness Zone 5a, where this Yucca variety is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences

Red Yucca is very easy to grow in a moist to somewhat dry soil of average to low fertility and full sun or part shade. No maintenance required except to remove spent flower stalks. Exceptionally drought tolerant when established.

My red yucca arrived blooming and in excellent condition. A beautiful healthy plant of the size I expected. Has been in the ground for about a month and is already spreading and putting out new blooms. I’ll be back for 2 more as soon as they are restocked.—————————-Thanks for the great review! We are so glad you are pleased! Beth | WBG
I have bought a lot of plants from Wilson Bros. Gardens but this was a real surprise. The Red Yucca is interesting, but this pair out-did themselves. When I took them out of the shipping box, they looked like ordinary Yucca,, then in a matter of days the blooms began to appear. We have been treated to constant flowers since then. The plants are very large. The packing was outstanding and they arrived in perfect order. I couldn’t be happier. Yucca needs little water and has few pests. Deer don’t eat it so it is just about the perfect plant. Thanks for this suggestion for our hot, dry Florida farm.—————————–Thanks for the great review! We are so glad you are pleased! Beth | WBG
Arrived in perfect condition. Thriving next to our koi pond.—————————————We are so glad you are pleased! Beth | WBG

I received my Red Yucca plants recently and am very pleased! Thank you very much!—————————–We are so glad you are pleased! Beth | WBG
My Red Yuccas while receiving a hard time from UPS, arrived in good condition and I was pleased with the size and soundness of the plants. Got them installed a week before this bitter cold snap arrived. Looking forward to seeing how they make it to Spring and am anticipating their dramatic flowering that will compliment my other recent Wilson Bros order of Drift Roses. Wilson Bros was very responsive and acted to be sure despite the shipping mishandling that both I and the plants were ok. Great service.————————————-Hi Gary, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review of the Red Yucca. Plant was of top quality and well packaged. It arrived in good shape in spite of the delivery date being rescheduled by several days (after it was already in the system, so the delay was with the shipping company, not Wilson’s). I would not hesitate to order from Wilson’s again.—————————WBG Reply: Hi Michael, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review of the Red Yucca. We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Sorry for the shipping delay, but glad it arrived in good shape!
